Check In

Many thanks for staying at the barn. For address, directions and map refer to our Getting Here web page. Check in at 3PM and check out at 11AM unless otherwise discussed.

We will email the key location specified by a photo. Please be sure to watch the Instructional Video at vimeo.com/barnonthepond. Specifically observe how to close and lock the doors. It is a two step process that many people have difficulty with. The main kitchen sink disposal is magnetically activated by the stopper and has no switch. Both the garbage and recycling bins are kept behind a new wood fence by the driveway. NO plastic trash bags in the recycling bin. Our neighbor moves the bins out to the end of the driveway every Wednesday night. Wintertime guests please turn off gas fireplace before bed.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE that our nearby neighbors are our friends and collaborators.  Be mindful we're in a quiet, residential neighborhood. Keeping noise levels down for our complaining neighbor whose window is across the street from our mailbox has become a crucial request. Keep it at a mellow, conversational level after 10PM. Neighbors sleep with windows open and noise travels easily. The barn is well insulated so feel free to bring the party inside!!!

If you have pets, please either keep them off the furniture or protect the furniture from hair and mud and clean up after them before your departure.

Before check out, turn off all lights and ceiling fans and make sure all exterior doors are properly locked. Please drop all used linens and towels in the laundry room with the DROP YOUR PANTS HERE sign above the door. Duvet covers do not need to be removed. It helps us keep the critters away if you load dirty dishes into the two dishwashers and turn them on before you leave.
